What is EquityIQ?
EquityIQ is the equity and buyback intelligence module of the MobilityIQ suite from DDX. It turns a raw motor-finance book into a scored, forward-looking view of risk and recoverable value — across HP, PCP, Lease and Personal Loan — with a transparent, auditable methodology and deal-level drill-down. It's the sibling to RetainIQ: RetainIQ keeps the customer, EquityIQ recovers the asset.
The problem it solves
Motor-finance lenders can tell you what a customer owes. Almost none can tell you, across the whole book and in one place: which contracts are under water and by how much; which are a profitable buyback today, where the trade value clears the settlement with room to spare; how EV legislation — the ZEV mandate, the 2030 ICE ban, ULEZ/CAZ, pay-per-mile — will hammer diesel and petrol residuals over the next five years; and where buying back too many of the same model at once would flood the wholesale market and depress your own recovery.
That intelligence is trapped in spreadsheets, valuation portals and someone's head — and value walks out the door every month at maturity. EquityIQ makes the equity side of the book visible, and actionable.
How EquityIQ works
Three capabilities turn a raw book into a scored, forward-looking view of risk and recoverable value.
- Every contract where the trade value beats the settlement
- Ranked by profit upside, past halfway through term
- Across dealer part-exchange, auction and WBAC routes
- Every contract graded 0–18, RAG-banded
- LTV, negative equity, term, depreciation, residual gap, payment strain
- Transparent and auditable — no black box
- 60-month month-by-month projection
- ZEV mandate, 2030 ICE ban & 2035 hybrid ban modelled in
- By fuel type, with wholesale supply-flood risk
What EquityIQ surfaces
From a single contract extract, EquityIQ turns a raw book into the equity picture lenders have never had in one place.
A ranked buyback list
Every contract where the trade value clears the settlement, ordered by upside — the profitable buybacks for remarketing to work before they mature out.
A red book you can defend
Every contract scored on six factors, with the balance riding on high risk surfaced — traceable enough for risk committee and audit.
A 60-month forward view
Equity, buybacks and risk mix projected out by fuel type, with the EV-legislation timeline and its residual impact built in.
Who builds EquityIQ
EquityIQ is built by DDX — a team with hundreds of combined years in automotive, working with OEMs, captive finance arms and dealer groups across training, consulting and software. Its valuation, risk and forecasting models are built against real motor-finance data, not generic models — which is why they handle the messy reality of HP, PCP/Select, Lease, dealer networks and termination types that off-the-shelf tools miss.
EquityIQ FAQ
What data do you need to start?
A contract-level extract: balances, vehicle details, terms, deposits and dealer. That's enough to score, value and forecast — no heavy systems integration for a pilot.
Where do the valuations come from?
EquityIQ runs trade-price models (dealer / WBAC / auction tiers) out of the box. For deal-level precision we integrate live valuation feeds — CAP HPI, Glass's Guide or AutoTrader Valuations.
How long does it take to stand up?
Days to a working demo on your data; a commitment-free two-week pilot to prove value.
Is the risk scoring a black box?
No. The six-factor model and every band are documented in the product's Methodology view — built to be defensible to risk committee and audit.
How does it relate to RetainIQ?
They're siblings in the MobilityIQ suite. RetainIQ keeps the customer; EquityIQ recovers the asset. Together they cover the full contract lifecycle.
Is our data secure?
EquityIQ runs on private, access-controlled deployments. Pilot data can be redacted, and nothing is publicly indexed.
Your first true equity view — in two weeks.
A commitment-free, two-week pilot on a slice of your portfolio. We score it, surface the buyback pool, and show you the red exposure and the 60-month forecast.
